As of 09/22/2026 I have had a second round of surgery to masculinize and flatten my chest. From this point on in the post I will be using “traditional” anatomical terms for my body parts from here on out, if that makes you uncomfortable, no one is forcing you to stay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The first time around we kept a minor amount of breast tissue in order to avoid nipple grafts and maintain sensation. I also weighed more at the time, and wanted my chest to be in proportion with the rest of my body.
This was years ago at this point, I have since lost weight and gained more confidence in my gender identity and decided I’d feel less dysphoric if I had a second surgery to have a flatter chest.
My surgeon removed what’s left of the breast tissue, but because I had surgery the first time everything was in a good enough position to not need nipple grafts! Instead she opened me back up along my pre existing incision scars, removed whatever breast tissue was left, and restitched me back up along the same scar/incision.
Unfortunately the nipple “stem” was detached, and currently don’t have feeling in my nipples, though it is likely to return at some point. This method of surgery is something specifically my Doctor has come up with and is not likely to be offered by every surgeon. (If you’re trans and reading this, and want to know more, message me!)
